Audio Quality and Circuitry
The CD-S303 inherits many sound quality features of high-end components. It delivers sound that will satisfy devoted music fans. The highly logical and symmetrical internal layout keeps signal paths as short as possible, minimizing loss or interference. Power supplies for the motor drive, display, USB, digital, and analog sections are individually isolated, eliminating electromagnetic interference among them. The drive mechanism is located in the center for ideal weight balance and stable performance. A high-grade acoustic capacitor and new low-noise, high-gain bandwidth op amp are used. The laser pickup is isolated on a floating mechanism to prevent vibration.

Digital Technology
The high-performance D/A converter utilizes a 192 kHz/24-bit DAC, ensuring excellent conversion precision, S/N ratio, and dynamic range. The Intelligent Digital Servo system uses a dependable DSP (Digital Signal Processor), exclusive for CDs, to monitor the signal, adjusting pickup tracking, focus, and spindle motor speed to compensate for any problems.

Pure Direct Mode
The CD-S303 offers Pure Direct, which is the same popular feature included in Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. By pressing the button, it shuts down the digital audio output and turns off the display. This achieves the lowest possible noise interference and the highest sound quality of the analog audio output.

Compatibility and Playback
Disc Compatibility includes CD and CD-R/RW. The front panel USB port allows easy enjoyment of high-quality sound from MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC, or FLAC digital music files stored on USB memory devices. Convenient playback functions include 10-Key direct track and direct access, Random play, Repeat play (full/single), Program Play (Audio CDs Only), Last track resume, Ready Mode, and Play mode memory. Information about the playing CD is shown via a 3-Mode CD Text Display (CD’s title, artist’s name, track title). The display has 4 Illumination levels.
